Last week, Strands participated in a panel discussion at the WSBI Latin America 22nd meeting in Panama city. The two-day meeting serves as a forum exchange of experiences and knowledge on modern-day banking under the theme “24/7 customer service, presence anywhere, anytime”.
The expert panel, called “The Digital Transformation of payments”, was moderated by Alvaro Naranjo Valencia, senior vice president of asset management at Geneva Asset Management. Representing Strands perspective on the future of digital payments was Strands Product Manager Albert Morales, who joined the experts discussing channel omnipresence, seamless quality of service and customer experience across the channels.
Some of the key highlights & Insights from the event:
“One of the key priorities for banks is to finally start understanding the data they have been collecting and hosting for so many years.” – Mario Rojas, General Manager of Caja de Ahorros de Panama.
“Customer data from different points within the bank is key to have a 360-degree view. Banks need to start creating business intelligence departments and incorporate multiple information touchpoints like geographical analysis, social media inputs, deposit alerts, etc.” – Anne Fat Choi, Director of Business Intelligence from Grupo Banreservas.
Albert in his presentation focused on how banks can attract new customers, including key challenges and key learnings from established online businesses. Albert highlighted the impact technology companies like Strands can provide in order to bring solutions that users are actually requesting but not receiving from any financial institution in the region.
