Strands Renews its Developer Portal to Boost Partners’ Autonomy

by | Mar 10, 2020

The upgraded portal ensures a superior developer experience and puts Strands’ expertise and technical know-how at the service of banking innovation

Strands has given its developer portal a full makeover in a strategic move to accelerate digitization in the banking sector. The revamped offering gives Strands’ customers and partners secure, self-service access to a comprehensive set of tools and resources to implement and operate the company’s financial technology solutions.

By providing more flexible access to its suite of APIs, Strands strives to enhance collaborative and innovative thinking across financial institutions. Strands’ new portal allows its clients and technology partners to build services on top of Strands’ APIs and bring new and improved banking experiences to life.

APIs as a catalyst for collaborative disruption

Strands Developer Portal 2.0 is designed to provide a top-notch developer experience and presents all the necessary information to understand, install and operate Strands’ product suite. The new portal provides a seamless cross-platform experience and grants access to detailed, end-to-end tutorials, which will walk developers through a series of scenarios to help them make the best programming decisions.

“The Strands Developer Portal’s ultimate goal is putting our expertise and technical know-how at the service of banking innovation. We want our partners to think outside the box and build money-management applications by themselves using the tools and resources we’ve been developing for years. Ultimately, opening our internal frameworks and documentation shows how proud we are of our solutions” says Strands’ VP of Engineering Pablo Reyes.

To mitigate the risks associated with APIs integrations –and thus reducing time-to-market– the portal allows engineering teams to play around in an API Sandbox. Among other things, in this testing environment, developers can delve into Strands’ APIs, replicate a real production workload and simulate error scenarios in a completely secure, cost-efficient manner.

The new version of the portal was revealed on March 10, 2020. The portal’s catalog includes the APIs for Strands’ core AI-driven applications PFM (Personal financial management) and BFM (Business financial management). The FinTech software provider will keep expanding the portal’s functionalities, further empowering banks to take their business to the next level.
