Experience at the Global SME Finance Forum Cambodia 2022

by | Sep 28, 2022

Under the “Harnessing Digitalization for Sustainable and Inclusive SME Finance ” claim, the past September from 19th to the 21st in Phnom Pehn, Cambodia, took place the Global SME Finance Forum 2022 edition, which gathered international experts unleashing latest trends, best practices and most advanced technologies and solutions supporting sustainable and inclusive SME financing across all ecosystems.

Strands was one of the bronze sponsors of the three-day conference organized by the International Finance Corporation and the National Bank of Cambodia.

Our participation in the event was diverse. Our international sales team Yee Ling, the Business Development Manager for APAC and Leandro Gimeno, Chief Customer Officer, who talked with many attendees about our banking solutions and how we can help boost their business and customer experience and engagement.

We were also part of the speaking program, where our Managing Director, Edoardo Borsari, participated at two of the most dynamic and exciting sessions of the whole conference alongside other C-level professionals from the banking industry.

During the first panel “Will Robots Replace SME Bankers?” the speakers shared their thoughts about the many challenges in the process of the prediction that some bankers make about how they are going to be replaced by robots and making sure that a customer gets a fair deal. The experts talked about why technologies like Big Data, AI, ML, and robots could make SME finance more efficient, and as a result, financiers could serve more SMEs faster.

The other speaking panel that we had the pleasure to join was “Achieving and Sustaining Green Finance”, where the focus of the conversation was about how digitalization offers an opportunity to accelerate the green revolution. Under the moniker, the Twin Transition, this session was an exploration of how Financial Institutions are realizing their green banking targets through the use of digital tools.

Overall it was an incredible experience where we also gathered very interesting contacts for future business opportunities and we can’t wait to participate again in the next edition
